Listen to a piece of music from a ballet, then have your child draw a picture or make a model of the scene they believe is occurring at that point in the ballet. Have your child describe the picture (or model) and what about the music gave him/her the sense that this kind of scene was occurring.
Extra Credit: Look up what the composer intended for the piece. How closely did your child’s instinct match the reality?
