Watch a short film or movie scene that your child hasn’t seen before with the sound off. Can s/he tell what was happening with Character X in the scene? How did they feel? How about Character Y? What about their faces, touches, etc. made your child feel that way? How do the characters feel about each other?

Extra Credit: What does your child think the next interaction between the characters will be about? Does s/he think they’ll feel the same way or will something change? Fast forward and find out.
